About
"Geena B. & her Valentines" was born by the marriage of Geena B. with Tom-Waits-Tribute-Band "Blue Valentines".
After several years of activity, the collaboration between the two musical realities became more and more frequent and in 2009 the idea of creating an album of songs together came out.
Within six months the 1st album "songs from next door" was composed.
In this album “Geena B. & her Valentines” involved friends to create a sound that strolls about between blues and folk, rock and local traditional music.
As music and lyrics were done by the pair "Geena B." and guitarist/pianist "a.rufus" while the song’s arrangement is entrusted to Valentines.
The final result consists in a melting-pot of ideas and visions of instrumentalists Zeno g. on clarinet, sax and percussions, MaxMax on bass/double bass and Kriben on drums and percussions to give the atmosphere to the pieces which have had to endure a real metamorphosis from the first attempt all the way to the final result.
After the 1st album "songs from next door" "Geena B. & her Valentines" will release the 2nd album "sinners, saints & valentines" in spring 2011.
In the meantime, Geena B. will soon release a song for an international humanitarian organisation to safeguard the rights of "Karen" people from Burma. You can find more at www.helfenohnegrenzen.org
